Now I know we really need the rains to come here in the valley but I must say that this warm weather is making pruning rather enjoyable. The way it normally goes, you wake up to frost then put on clothes that are still cold and moist from the day of pruning before. Work starts before the sun even touches the vineyard. Hands are the first to feel the pain from pulling the frosted canes of the wire. Then its your feet that confront the chill of the freezing dew. By 10:00am if your lucky the sun brings relief, if your unlucky the fog does not burn off until long after work and your cold and wet all day. However, this year so far has been great. No fog, warm sun, just a little frost in the morning.
